Paid Time Off for Employees in California—Corporate

Amazon provides you with PTO to rest, recharge, attend to personal matters, or use when you’re sick or need medical care. The amount of time you receive varies based on your employment class and where you work, and it increases with tenure. The tables reflect total number of hours of PTO that employees accrue each year. PTO accrues each pay period.

Employees earn PTO in addition to company paid holidays.

Employees rehired by Amazon

If you’re a former employee and are rehired by Amazon within 6 months of your termination date, we will adjust your service date to include your tenure as an employee prior to termination for the purposes of determining your PTO rate of accrual. If you are rehired more than 6 months after your termination date, you will accrue PTO at the regular rate for new employees in their first year of employment.

The following PTO info applies to corporate employees in California in class F (40 hours/week), class R (30–39 hours/week), and class H (20–29 hours/week). The tables reflect total number of hours of PTO that employees accrue each year. PTO accrues each pay period.

If you’re applying to a non-corporate job in California, refer to the Paid time off for US Amazon employees page.
