Senior Software Engineer / Team Lead

DESCRIPTION

This is a Team Lead role at PillPack.

PillPack is a full service online pharmacy that sorts medication by the dose and provides convenient multi-dose packets, vials, and bulk medications to a patient's door. We believe in the best possible pharmacy experience for our customers. Our custom software powers our many clinical and operations specialists who work on our customers' behalf every day.

As a member of our engineering team, you will be at the intersection of the physical and digital world. You will be solving interesting and complex problems at every layer of the stack, and you will be helping to make a real difference for our end consumers. You will have the opportunity to work cross-functionally with engineering, product, clinical / distribution, and customer care teams.

As a team lead, you will be responsible for establishing mechanisms and best practices for a growing team. You will have the opportunity to lead design reviews and architecture discussions, and establish mechanisms across the team to ensure consistent and timely delivery and reporting. You will have the opportunity to mentor engineers in code structure and design, as well as broader system design principles.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Engineering in Computer Science or equivalent combination of technical education and work experience.
· Six plus years of overall work experience in a related field, including two or more years leading a technical team
· Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals and data structures.
· Experience taking a leading role in building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
· Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
· Experience with distributed computing and enterprise-wide systems
· Demonstrable skills and experience using SQL with large data sets
· Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior management to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
· Experience mentoring junior software engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective as product software engineers
· Experience driving adoption of software engineering best practices within your team

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


· Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to B2B customers
· Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
· Ability to take a project from scoping requirements through actual launch of the project
· Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs.
