About Lauwin-Planque

What's good to know

"The Capital of Flanders" and the North of France, Lille is the fourth most populated city in the country (the metropolitan area has a population of more than 1 million). A dynamic metropolis with a strong industrial heritage, the city offers preserved and unique Flemish architecture. Visitors love to wander between the Grand Place and the Notre-Dame-de-la-Treille basilica and lose their way in the Braderie de Lille (the largest flea market in Europe), a relic of medieval European fairs and a vivid testimony of the city’s deeply rooted commercial culture.

Lille is also a major cultural hub: it was the “European Capital of Culture” in 2004, is a designated “City of Art and History” and is home to both a modern art museum and a fine arts centre.
As proof of this flourishing cultural life and of Amazon's local engagement, a "street-artist" crew painted a 50m2 fresco depicting the men and women who work at LIL1 during the opening of Amazon Tours in France on 11 April 2015.
