Famous for its jewellery- and watch-making industry, Pforzheim is affectionately known as the Goldstadt (the Golden City). Today, this busy, modern, family-friendly city is home to nearly 120,000 people. And there are certainly plenty of reasons to recommend it as a place to live and work.

In the town itself, you’ll find a number of bustling outdoor markets nestled among the wide range of shops cafes, restaurants and bars. And as the gateway to the Black Forest, Pforzheim is also a great base for hiking and cross-border trips into Switzerland.

Amazon Fulfilment Centre

Amazon opened the fulfilment centre in Pforzheim, which is located between Stuttgart and Karlsruhe, during autumn 2012. It measures 110,000 square metres, which is approximately equivalent to 17 football pitches.
