DESCRIPTION

Amazon is looking for a motivated individual with strong analytical skills to join Amazon’s Global Operations Integration team. In this position he or she will be responsible for building the metrics, tools, and reports to support Amazon's growth. In addition, he or she will help support a variety of new business initiatives by collaborating with project managers and software, retail, and finance teams. We are seeking a candidate with proven technical skills in SQL and scripting (VBA, Perl, Ruby, etc.).
Responsibilities include:
* Building and managing benchmarking metrics for Amazon’s fulfillment practices both internally and externally against best-in-class operations
* Gathering and analyzing data across business functions to establish global standards for supply chain and product fulfillment
* Developing basic scripts to process data to support business analysis, benchmarking, and optimization efforts
* Generating complex queries to dive deep on process issues
* Innovate to improve customer experience and continuously remove cost from our fulfillment network

* Demonstrated analytical and quantitative skills and ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business cases

* Willingness to roll up your sleeves and do whatever is necessary; general manager / owner mentality
* Demonstrated ability to dive deep in understanding the product, our business, and the competitive landscape


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in supply chain, engineering, operations research, business analytic, or a related field
• 5+ years supply chain, logistics management, e-commerce and/or project management experience
• Proficiency in Advanced Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) and SQL
• Ready to consume and manipulate large data sets to build streamlined analysis and have the ability to articulate its business impact
• Experience working with process improvement techniques such as Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years professional experience (in transportation, supply chain, network design or e-commerce)
• Master’s degree in supply chain, engineering, operations research, business analytic fields
• Expert in writing and tuning SQL scripts
• Advanced knowledge of Java, Python, Tableau and/or R
• Experience of Six Sigma/ Lean analytical techniques
• Excellent communication, both verbal and written as one may be required to create a narrative outlining weekly findings and the variances to goals, and present these finding in a review forum
• Be self-driven, and show ability to deliver on ambiguous projects with incomplete data
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and effectively react to changing business environments
