Amazon is seeking a curious, intuitive, high-judgment, self-motivated and creative communications professional to create employee-facing communications for Amazon Logistics (AMZL) associates and their leaders. As a manager on the Internal Communications team you will partner with senior Operations and HR leaders, contribute to the editorial calendar for North America AMZL, support leadership comms for Regional Directors, and manage All Hands meetings. The ideal candidate will insist on high standards, dive deep into details, have a strong bias for action, and easily manage competing priorities. The role would suit a detail-orientated people person with a passion for storytelling and writing.

You’ll lead provide strategic communication counsel to cross-functional partners on a wide range of complex topics, manage issues, changes, and crisis communications; and execute on employee communications, programs, and experiences. The ideal candidate will insist on the highest standards, be right a lot, dive deep into details, have a strong bias for action and sense of ownership, distill information to find common threads between projects, and be energized by juggling priorities. They’ll keep composure in fast-moving situations, embrace ambiguity and changing tides, be able to quickly get up to speed on complex issues, anticipate employee questions/reactions, and quickly prepare thorough messaging strategies.

Core Job Responsibilities:
· Develop innovative internal communications strategies, clear narratives and tactics that engage Amazon’s AMZL operations frontline employee base
· Contribute to the editorial calendar, including ongoing adjustments based on data and trends
· Launch visual communication standards in buildings
· Develop a content cohort with partners to reduce noise from direct communication from these functions to the field
· Write and plan for communications, particularly around Operational changes and improvements
· Lead development and execution of communications for new programs, policies, and changes
· Earn trust, provide counsel, and effectively communicate with a range of internal stakeholders
· Think and communicate clearly – formulate a clear point of view on complicated issues and create a concise and well-written narrative to express it
· Build stakeholder relationships across a range of businesses and provide counsel
· Support issues and crisis communications
· Raise the bar through passion for internal communications, willingness to take risk, impeccable judgment, and logic and care in decision-making
· Roll up sleeves and get work done, even when at times it’s outside the scope of the job

· Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field
· 7+ years of public relations or communications experience
· Media relations or crisis management
· Internal communications experience within a national company or logistics/retail company


· Experience building robust communications programs and delivering results
· Internal or executive communications experience with logistics, operations, or retail
· Change management or issues management experience
· Experience building strong relationships with subject matter experts in areas like Operations, Human Resources, and Employee Relations
· Experience developing relevant content for a diverse, remote, and mobile workforce
· Experience creating metrics to measure communication effectiveness, reach and engagement
· Experience developing and managing an annual editorial calendar with engaging content across a variety of channels
· Comfortable dealing with ambiguity and able to form a cohesive and effective outcome from potentially incongruous facts (or lack thereof) and individual perspectives
· Possess a strategic approach to problems solving; able to anticipate potential reputation issues
· Willing to get work done, even when at times it’s outside the scope of the job
