Amazon Music seeks a Finance Manager to join the Digital Music Finance group and support a fast growing business focused on building a personalized, curated, and seamless music experience for the customers. The role owns the end-to-end content cost reporting and payment processes for all the major product lines of the Digital Music businesses - Prime Music (“PM”), Amazon Music Unlimited (“AMU”), Ad Supported Music, and upcoming services. Amazon Music has been expanding rapidly over the last two years through international expansion and leveraging new distribution channels. We currently offer streaming music service to customers in 40+ countries and we have become one of the major players in the biggest markets for global streaming music. The role has a unique insight into end-to-end business on a global scale and will work closely with key stakeholders including content acquisition, label relations, legal, royalties and reporting, metrics and BI, accounting, compliance, and finance operations teams to ensure that worldwide content costs are reported, disbursed, and accounted for in an accurate and timely manner. The role will provide consultative support to business partners to identify opportunities for control improvements with the objective of mitigating risk and improving accuracy. In this capacity, you will gain valuable exposure to many areas within our global business. You will lead people, direct meetings, and be a champion for positive change.
The role is responsible for:
§ Monthly estimation and disbursement of global Prime Music, AMU and other digital music service royalties for our label and publishing partners;
§ Continuous improvement of processes impacting the monthly content cost reporting and disbursements through a functioning control framework, detailed analytics, process checklists, and management reporting; Leading and influencing key stakeholders by proposing and implementing creative solutions for issues;
§ Supporting new product launches and expansion of existing products to new geographies;
§ Developing and mentoring junior team members.
The role, to be successful, dives deep to understand the industry, finance and business complexities and delivers results by building trust and good working relationship with cross-functional business partners, including: Content Acquisition, Finance, Legal, Technology, and Shared Service teams. Major business partners are located in: Seattle, San Francisco, New York, London, Munich, Tokyo, and Bangalore.
§ 7+ years of finance, accounting or other related analytical experience
§ Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business or related field
§ MBA or advanced business degree preferred
§ Strong communication and organizational skills
§ Excellent data analysis, quantitative skills and ability to dive deep
§ Ability to develop ideas independently and thrive in a fast-paced environment
§ Advanced knowledge of MS Excel
§ Familiarity with SQL
§ Proven ability to work successfully in an ambiguous environment
§ Highly analytical and detail oriented
§ Demonstrated ability to manage complex business processes, work with multiple stakeholders to establish controls and reporting framework for reporting, management, and compliance purposes.
§ Ability to build and manage financial models for problem solving, deep dive analyses, forecasting, and understanding variances.
§ Experience working with a fast-paced, high-tech start-up or similar company
§ Experience working with software development teams
