Ring is seeking a Senior System Development Manager responsible for leading a team of engineers working on the development and production of products, focusing on camera-based connected products. A successful candidate will have strong technical skills, excellent project management skills, great communication skills, people management skills, and motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced environment.

You will work closely with our device engineering team globally, as well as cloud and mobile teams. You must be responsive and able to succeed within an open and collaborative peer environment. This position can be based in Los Angeles or Sunnyvale, CA.

· Own system development end to end.
· Work closely with engineers to architect and develop strong technical designs.
· Execute against project plans and provide timely delivery of committed results.
· Manage day-to-day activities of the engineering team within an Agile/Scrum environment.
· Manage department resources, staffing and mentoring.
· Build, enhance, and maintain engineering team.
· Work closely with engineers to architect and develop strong technical designs.
· Report on status of development, quality, operations, and system performance to management.
· Maintain and enhance software framework.


· Experience in partnering with product and program management teams
· 5+ years of people management experience, managing engineers
· 10+ years of relevant engineering experience
· 10+ years of experience working directly with engineering teams.
· 7+ years of experience in systems (software and hardware) development management in a related industry.
· 5+ years of experience with agile and scrum development methodologies.
· 5+ years of experience with project delivery for large, cross-functional projects.
· Experience in working with product and program management teams.
· Experience contributing to the architecture and design of new and existing systems.
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.


· Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
· Experience building and developing a strong systems team with subject matter experts in diverse areas in IoT.
· System architecture knowledge and experience with high volume designs.
· Strong knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Camera and Computer Vision technologies, Multimedia system design (video and audio streaming), Autonomous navigation/SLAM, low power or battery power systems design, Embedded system design, and/or System architecture design for consumer devices with connectivity (WiFi, BLE) and motion sensor technologies.
· Experience in working with overseas CM/OEM/ODM vendors in product development.
· Demonstrated experience engaging and influencing senior executives.
· Proven analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations and drive actions.
· High attention to detail including precise and effective customer communications and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
