We are searching a talented candidate with expertise in spaceflight navigation, including LEO Satellite Orbit Determination and/or GNSS spaceflight hardware and software systems.
This position requires experience in simulation and analysis of astrodynamics models and GNSS raw measurements such as pseudorange and carrier phase. Strong analysis skills are required to develop engineering studies of complex large-scale dynamical systems. This position requires demonstrated expertise in computational analysis automation and tool development.
A day in the life
Spending part of the day with real spaceflight hardware and evaluating performance using diagnostic software. Likely investing time in development of tools to expedite tasks. Occasionally attend a team meeting to track and update progress to production. Work with other GNC and avionics engineers to build flight systems.
Perform navigation analysis in support of multi-disciplinary trades within the Kuiper team.
Contribute to software development of flight algorithms.
Test and Assess navigation software for integration into flight systems.
Assess and trouble-shoot the performance of Kuiper on-board GNSS hardware and software systems.
Work closely with GNC engineers to manage on-orbit performance and develop flight dynamics operations processes.

Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline
Basic understanding of Position, Navigation, and Timing systems.
Basic understanding of any of the flight dynamics engineering roles such as orbit analysis, trajectory calculation, orbit determination, and operations
Basic understanding of GNC topics and related analysis
Excellent communication skills
Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Aerospace Engineering or Electrical Engineering
Experience or advanced study in spaceflight navigation and orbit determination
Experience with GNSS systems, including processing raw measurements such as pseudoranges and carrier phases
