Job ID: 1800724 | Amazon Dev Centre Canada ULC

Job summary
Come join the AWS Marketplace Team on our mission to transform the way software is bought and sold! Marketplace enables software sellers to reach buyers on AWS and enables software buyers to easily discover, purchase and consume software. Our vision is to make AWS Marketplace a one stop shop for buying and selling software just like is for retail. We are looking for an experienced Software Development Engineer to help take the team to the next level. As a Software Development Engineer on the team you will own significant portions of the product and will have significant influence on our strategy by helping define the next wave of product features and system architecture. The systems are complex and there are huge opportunities to work at all levels from the front-end user experience to a set of robust backend APIs and services and everything in between. You’re someone who thrives on solving complex distributed computing challenges, is customer obsessed and is passionate about building quality software that raises the operational excellence of the organization. You possess strong communication skills since at AWS Marketplace you’ll have several opportunities to meet and interact with customers (both buyers and sellers) directly!

The ideal candidate will have a demonstrable track record of success delivering new features or products, strong knowledge of web services and protocols and an in-depth knowledge of systems architectures. Experience with asynchronous workflow, big-data, machine learning and AWS technologies is a plus.

Our Team
At AWS Marketplace Seller Services our charter is to provide sellers (including Independent Software Vendors and Resellers) a world-class experience to list, market, and sell their products and services globally. By offering a curated catalog of offerings that buyers trust, along with seller data analytics, we enable sellers to manage and grow their business such that AWS MP becomes their primary channel of business.

Our Culture
At AWS Marketplace, we embrace our differences. We are committed to furthering our culture of inclusion. We have multiple employee-led affinity groups, reaching over 40,000 employees in over 190 chapters globally. We have innovative benefit offerings, and host annual and ongoing learning experiences, including our Conversations on Race and Ethnicity (CORE) and AmazeCon (gender diversity) conferences. Amazon’s culture of inclusion is reinforced by our 16 Leadership Principles that remind the team to seek diverse perspectives, learn and be curious, and earn trust.

On-Call Responsibility
Occasionally our systems might stray away from our normal course of operations. To minimize the impact of such excursions, we have on-call rotations. Being on-call is a great opportunity to learn how the systems behave and raise the bar on operational excellence when you’re on on-call duty. Everyone on the team take turns to be on on-call rotations, typically on a weekly basis.

Work/Life Balance
Our team puts a high emphasis on work-life balance. It isn’t about how many hours you spend at home or at work; it is about the flow you establish that brings energy to both parts of your life. We believe that striking the right balance between your personal and professional life is critical to life-long happiness and fulfillment. We offer flexibility in working hours and encourage you to find your own balance between your work and personal lives.

Mentorship & Career Growth
Our team is dedicated to supporting new members. We have a broad mix of experience levels and tenures, and we’re building an environment that celebrates knowledge sharing and mentorship. Our senior members enjoy one-on-one mentoring and thorough but kind code reviews. We deeply care about your career growth and strive to assign projects based on what will help each team member needs to develop their skills and take them to the next level.
