Are you interested in working at the intersection of information analysis, political risk, and the cyber-physical nexus? As the largest Cloud service provider in the world, our Security teams solve interesting and challenging problems on a global scale. AWS Security’s Global Expansion Intelligence and Risk Team (GEIR) is looking for a global security professional to perform intelligence analysis, and identify and mitigate security risks to ensure our customer’s data is secure as we expand our presence. Security Intelligence Analysts provide information assessments and risk analysis support to company leadership and infrastructure expansion stakeholders to inform expansion strategy and determine security requirements. Security Intelligence Analysts conduct deep open-source research, manage the collection of both qualitative and quantitative data, and use structured analytic techniques to forecast emerging risks to AWS personnel, facilities, and operations. As a Security Intelligence Analyst, you’ll produce deeply researched intelligence products that identify and manage the biggest security risks facing the company overseas.

The GEIR Team is seeking an experienced, self-motivated individual who is focused on security and identifying solutions. We are looking for a candidate with a demonstrated background in international/foreign affairs, information analysis, geopolitical risk and physical security. This role requires a skill set which includes open source research, conduct of quantitative and qualitative risk assessments, and working across Amazon teams to proactively implement solutions. A successful candidate must be able to conduct a structured analysis of a wide variety of sources from third-party intelligence providers, internal company data, host-nation crime statistics, and even host country laws and regulations where relevant. The ideal candidate should be able to ingest myriad sources to create a data-driven story about long-term risk for stakeholders: excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are required. Candidates must have a strong understanding of risk-based decision-making as you will be making critical judgment calls on a regular basis.

Working with the GEIR team is an opportunity to get experience providing intelligence on a wide-range of geopolitical threat vectors and geographies. Your assessments will have both an immediate and long-term business impact. You will operate autonomously, with support from the team when needed, and provide intelligence and security risk support directly to company leadership. Novel ideas to drive security initiatives will be highly encouraged. You will have an opportunity to develop substantive expertise and participate in broadening assignments with other intelligence and business expansion teams within the company.
