We're looking for an outstanding Applied Scientist with a focus on Computer Vision and Computer Graphics who will be working on visual sensor simulation to verify and improve Prime Air's onboard perception software stack.

Export Control License
This position may require a deemed export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Placement is contingent on Amazon’s ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on your behalf.

Key job responsibilities
You will be working with a state-of-the-art rendering engine to create large-scale 3D digital twins of the real world and model physical image formation processes of visual sensors to support requirements from Computer Vision / Machine Learning / Perception scientists.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • PhD plus 5+ years of experience in Computer Vision, Computer Graphics or related field
  • Graduate from an accredited college or university
  • Experience in applied computer vision research
  • Experience with render engines
  • Proficient in C++ and Python coding skills
  • Excellent problem-solving ability

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience building complex software/hardware mission-critical systems that have been successfully delivered to customers at scale
  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes and testing
  • Demonstrated business communication skills
  • Experience communicating with various teams to collect requirements, describe product features and technical designs
