The Secure All the Things (SAT2) team is looking for a Software Development Engineer (SDE) to help research, innovate and build new AWS Security tools from the ground up. You’ll work with security engineers, program managers, data engineers, and others across multiple teams to develop innovative security solutions at massive scale. This is a highly visible program across AWS where you will have the opportunity to have a huge impact.
You will work in an agile team to help AWS service teams and builders to make things secure and innovative, and make AWS security easier for developers.

- 4+ years of professional software development experience
- 3+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language
- 2+ years of experience contributing to the system design or architecture (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead OR leading an engineering team
o BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience
o 6+ years of experience in identifying security issues and risks, and developing mitigation plans
o 4+ years of experience in network, system, or software architecture; design, implementation, support, and evaluation of security-focused tools and services
o 4+ years of scripting or programming experience in Ruby, Python, Shell/BASH scripting, Java, C/C++, C#, Perl, or other languages. C experience preferred.
o 2+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas: cryptography, web and network protocols, data structures and algorithms, software development, threat modelling, pen tests, or vulnerability assessments
o Have a clear understanding of cloud computing services/deployment architecture
o Demonstrate innovative security approaches in non-traditional IT environments
o Have experience generating automated metrics to measure service and program effectiveness and consistency
o Have excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences
o Have experience in the development of security products
