Prime Air is seeking experienced Engineers to drive delivery on a critical program across several different disciplines. This role requires strong troubleshooting capabilities and strength in innovating in a constrained design space.
This role requires excellent communication skills to build trust and drive alignment across both design and operations spaces. In this role, you will work with engineering, manufacturing, and operational functions across all Prime Air teams, to identify and mitigate risks to efficient delivery, and turn ambiguous problems into straightforward solutions. The ideal candidate will have exceptional customer focus, problem solving skills, regulatory understanding, and the ability to convert lessons learned to requirement update requests.

Key job responsibilities

  • Drive the delivery of critical engineering feedback and design improvements for Prime Air drones and support systems across teams through requirement tracking, design, development and test.
  • Own and drive triage of issues
  • Partner with quality and design engineering teams to close feedback loops
  • Engage with customer teams to understand opportunities for process improvement, and drive changes
  • Work with other engineers to find innovative solutions within fixed design space.

Export Control License
This position may require a deemed export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Placement is contingent on Amazon’s ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on your behalf.


• 8+ years of engineering or field experience in one or more of the following areas: avionics, propulsion, test development, navigation systems, control systems, robotics, or autonomous systems.
• Bachelor's degree in aerospace/mechanical/electrical/systems engineering, computer science, or a related technical discipline
• Experience working on aerospace products / projects or other regulated field like healthcare or automotive
• Experience with troubleshooting and trend analysis
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Thrive in an ambiguous environment


  • Experience with MRB, nonconformance processes, and quality systems
  • Familiarity with Change Management and RCCA/FRACAS
  • Experience with flight operations
  • Experience with maintenance operations
  • Experience with repair station
  • Experience with design or redesign of integrated systems
  • Familiarity with regulatory agencies, and regulatory requirements
  • Familiarity with the creation of user manuals, maintenance manuals, or service bulletins
  • Familiarity with the creation of custom tooling or equipment for troubleshooting or maintenance
  • Experience with tools required to manage complex projects such as MS Project, Atlassian Jira, etc.
  • Experience with Python, C, SQL, XML
  • Experience with CAD tools like Catia, Solidworks
  • Proficient with reliability and computational tools like Minitab, Matlab
  • Experience in Lean/Six-sigma
  • Master’s degree in aerospace engineering, computer science, engineering, or a related technical discipline
