Job summary
The Alexa Communications team’s mission is to bring people closer together by enabling customers to use their Alexa-powered devices for convenient, natural, and expressive conversations with family and friends. It's still day 1 for our team and we want you to help us shape the future of voice-enabled technologies by raising the bar for operational performance and support across our organization.

As a Application Support Engineer you will be responsible for and will act as a subject matter expert in systems availability, monitoring, and performance optimization. You will work directly with our development teams to identify and resolve primary causes of service impacting issues and implement mitigation to common failure scenarios. You will become intimate with the architecture of our systems, support software rollouts, build internal tools, and exemplify operational excellence.


  • 2+ years of development or technical support experience
  • Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems
  • Experience in Unix
  • Experience scripting in modern program languages

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or a related field and five years of experience in the job offered or related occupation as equivalent to the Master’s degree and two years of experience.
· One year of experience must involve: developing solutions related to fintech, including SQL reports, forms, BI publisher,;
· Experience with at least one of the following applications: accounts receivable, accounts payable, procurement, expense, general ledger, inventory, or fixed assets
· Experience working with accounting teams to troubleshoot application configurations


· Additional programming skills that are useful towards the job but not a core requirement; Java
· Must have a strong functional knowledge of the Oracle e-Business suite in a multiple organization and multiple set of books environment.
· A strong desire to work in a fast paced dynamic environment.
· Must be able to work independently with limited general supervision.
· Solid interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively organize and communicate across functional and technical lines are critical.
· Root cause analysis and complex problem solving skills are important.
· Strong working knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL best practices.
· Must have very strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications and an emphasis toward highly available and scalable global solutions.
· Experience prioritizing competing demands, scoping large efforts and negotiating timelines are necessary skills.
