Amazon Compute Technologies (ACT) builds innovative managed compute and networking solutions that empower Amazon Software Engineers to build and operate services for Amazon’s customers that are secure, highly available, and easy to scale. We identify and support the foundational infrastructure capabilities, tools, and datasets needed to support rapid global expansion of Amazon's SOA infrastructure, built on top of AWS technologies. Our team focuses on robust and scalable architecture patterns and engineering best practices, driving adoption of ever-evolving and cutting-edge AWS technologies.
As a Technical Program Manager (TPM), you will play a pivotal role in driving a new cultural and technology direction for our consumer business, moving the larger engineering community for Amazon's consumer business away from proprietary service based technology implementations and towards embracing those native AWS solutions such as Lambda and ECS. Our team builds and operates innovative hosted compute platforms that empower Amazon's retail engineers to build architectures for their business solutions that are secure, available, productive, and cost efficient.
Our offerings include Compute Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) products that power most of the critical business processes within Amazon, and Service Mesh products such as software load balancing/serialization libraries etc., Service Frameworks, traffic shaping products, and caching products used by teams across Amazon. Our vision is to make Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) of Amazon consumer business more manageable and developers more productive by building an ecosystem of managed abstractions that allow our developers to just focus on their unique business logic and business operations, while abstracting away the best practices around the SOA.
We are looking for an individual experienced in managing cross-cutting technical products and projects with industry-wide impact. You will have a proven track record of planning and delivering complex programs with multi-year roadmap, using Agile and incremental delivery methods. You must have experience working on complex software systems in a customer-centric environment, driven cross-group teams spread across multiple geographies and handled communication from technical developers to Senior VPs.
Given the size and impact of ACT's customer base, we understand the importance of making our development tools “just work”. We make it easy to build high quality, reliable systems build and maintain Amazon Customer trust, that support Amazon's evolving architectural needs. Come help us create and evolve the abstractions that make developing software at Amazon even more powerful and flexible!
