As a Principal Product Manager (Technical) for the Brand Home team, you will use a combination of outstanding leadership, thought clarity, analytical skills, cross-functional partnership, business model analysis, and strategic thinking to innovate on behalf of our customers. You're excited about the prospect of building a new program from scratch and scaling it to meet future, unforeseen customer needs and business opportunities. You are highly technical and comfortable having strategic design conversations with senior engineering leaders. You thrive on working with cutting-edge technology and have a strong understanding of scaling operations and technical platforms and ML/AI. You also have a proven track record of owning and delivering world-class experiences to internal customers that raise-the-bar from an innovation, usability, and design perspective. Lastly, you deliver results in an ambiguous, fast-paced, dynamic business environment and are highly comfortable exercising fantastic judgment across a spectrum of highly diverse problems.

Key job responsibilities
• Lead the development of the product vision, strategy and roadmap
• Create consensus for the product vision both internally and with key engineering and research science partners
• Work closely with software engineering, design, and business stakeholders to deliver features
• Define an ambitious product roadmap to deliver on vision while making iterative progress on behalf of our customers
• Actively identify and resolve strategic issues that may impair the team’s ability to meet strategic, financial, and technical goals
• Strong attention to detail and end-to-end ownership
• Must be able to think creatively, deal with ambiguity, and manage changing priorities
• Strong verbal/written communication & data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams

About the team
The Brand Home team owns brand building products that allow brands to establish their identity and manage their voice across Amazon. Our North Star is for Brand Home to be a single place for brands of all sizes to manage their marketing presence, where they can 1) easily share branded content for use across placements to improve the shopper experience and assist shopper journeys, 2) view how this content engages shoppers and contributes to brand objectives, and 3) get recommendations to meet these objectives and grow their brands.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 8+ years of technical product management, program management or engineering experience
  • 2+ years of experience with end to end product delivery
  • Experience leading engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
  • Experience owning roadmap strategy and definition
  • Experience owning feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, support scope of requirements and prioritize, with a demonstrated experience engaging and influencing senior executives.
  • Sound business judgment, proven ability to influence others, and strong analytical thinking skills are critical to success in this position
  • An entrepreneurial mindset, with the tenacity to develop ideas independently, think across customers and market segments, and thrive in fast-paced environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA or advanced degree in a related field
  • Experience product managing large, service based architectures
  • Basic SQL + Excel skills
  • Ability to work well with a variety of people in various technical levels, including engineers and scientists
