We’re looking for a highly accomplished business leader for the Go-to-Market Strategy Team (GTMS), focused on the Western U.S. region (US-West) and the Healthcare and Life Sciences (HCLS) industry. The GTMS team helps drive adoption of AWS services and solutions in multiple categories (e.g., Compute, Database, Storage, Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Internet of Things, Blockchain, Cx/Customer 360, Demand & Fulfillment Transformation, etc.) across multiple industries and customer segments.

As a GTMS manager for HCLS across the entire Western U.S., and the overall GTMS lead covering a sub-area of the US-West for all relevant industries, you will have the exciting opportunity to help drive the growth and shape the future of AWS both within our HCLS customer base which includes medical device, life sciences, payors/providers and pharmaceutical/genomics companies, as well as more broadly across other industries in US-West.

You will help set and achieve strategic GTM and sales goals within the HCLS industry segment across US-West as well as across all industry segments within a sub-area of U.S. West, working with field marketing, sales leaders and account teams, solutions architects, partners, and other cross-functional leaders across AWS to define and execute a portfolio of high value go-to-market programs and impactful sales motions targeting IT, line-of-business, and C-Suite stakeholders. You will own the design, activation, iteration and ongoing measurement of our industry-focused go-to-market strategies for key enterprise vertical(s) with the goal to create new sales pipeline, accelerate existing pipeline, and help our teams develop and cultivate executive relationships at our customers.

Working backwards from customer needs you will create and deliver new solution selling motions that incorporate multiple AWS technologies in order to deliver exceptional customer outcomes. You will also represent the voice of HCLS customers internally and provide detailed guidance on key industry trends and use cases to inform multiple stakeholder organizations. To achieve success, you will work very closely with our North American sales management team, specialized business development teams, partner teams, marketing teams, technical teams, sales enablement teams, and other cross-functional teams. You will also collaborate closely with our Digital Innovation team, which focuses on helping our customers using Amazon’s unique Working Backwards approaches to reach their growth potential – on AWS – by accelerating their cloud adoption. Through Digital Innovation we help our customers understand Amazon’s culture of innovation, learn from how Amazon’s had innovated in different areas, and apply our innovation methodologies, practices, and process to help our customers identify their end-customer’s specific problem or opportunity, and then define and build products, services, or experiences that meets their customer’s most pressing needs.


· 10+ years of experience in sales, business development, strategic partnerships, marketing, program or product management, or roles with equivalent scope.
· 5+ years of experience in the Healthcare and Life Sciences (HCLS) sector.
· Strong analytical skills and structured problem-solving skills.
· Exceptional interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal) skills.
· Experience communicating with both technical / non-technical stakeholders across multiple teams.
· Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results. Ability to effectively lead and work with a variety of organizations, management levels, cultures, and personalities.
· Demonstrated leadership skills.


The idea candidate has top tier management consulting leadership experience and/or sales-business development leadership experience, grounded in strong business analysis, with a track record in sales and/or go-to-market that has been focused on identifying customer objectives, developing win strategies, and enabling sales and/or business development teams to think big, move fast, and deliver results.
· 10+ years of experience in the design, activation and iteration of effective Go To Market Strategies for IT, Cloud, Software or SaaS companies with a focus on solution selling motions.
· 5+ years selling or marketing technology solutions, preferably cloud-based hosted and managed services.
· Direct experience working in/with the Life Sciences, Medtech, and BioPharma/Biotechnology industries.
· Experience in go-to-market strategy and technology-enabled transformation in multiple industries.
· Experience with one or more specific technology domains aligned with AWS service categories (e.g., Compute, Storage, Databases, Analytics, Machine Learning, IoT).
· MBA or equivalent relevant business experience.
· Technical background with Computer Science, Engineering, or Math background.
