We are looking for an experienced Software Development Engineer to build novel solutions that give Amazon insight into our business. On the Social Responsibility engineering team, you'll develop ways of collecting, analyzing and enabling discovery of data from a variety of sources. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Programming experience with at least one software programming language.
  • 1+ years of experience in software development

  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related degree, or equivalent professional or military experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
  • Ability to take a project from scoping requirements through actual launch of the project
  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs
  • Experience influencing software engineering best practices within your team
  • Hands-on expertise in disparate technologies, typically ranging from front-end user interfaces through to back-end systems and all points in between
  • Expertise in one or more AWS products/services
