Senior Program Manager, Aircraft Maintenance Operations , Amazon Air
DESCRIPTION
Amazon AIR is looking for an Aircraft Maintenance Operations Manager to join the Global Technical Operations team (GTO). The GTO Team works in tandem with the Amazon Air Network Control Center (AANCC) located at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) to provide regular updates to the Amazon AIR internal customers and senior leadership. The role is kindred to a Maintenance Control operation in the Aviation industry. The primary focus is to provide real-time technical information regarding fleet health and readiness for the Amazon Air North American, European Union and Canadian fleet. Ensuring accurate technical data is disseminated to minimize delays, reducing average delay time, and eliminating flight cancellations is key to this position. As the primary GTO point of contact for the AANCC, the Maintenance Operations Manager will communicate all in-service maintenance delays, cancellations and any other maintenance discrepancies that impact scheduled service and customer impact.
Key job responsibilities
- Monitor, review and action maintenance activities system-wide to include all MELs, CDLs and other deferrals
- Distinguish between relevant and irrelevant technical information in order to make logical operational recommendations
- Lead multiple aircraft maintenance controllers driving operational process and efficiency improvements
- Govern KPI reporting for a portfolio of programs, providing visibility to the milestones, and performance across all projects and using this data to drive/influence business decisions
- Work directly with external providers, customers, and partner teams to craft and deliver scalable solutions
- Develop relationships with air carriers to gather appropriate information and data to analyze and make recommendations to and for the AANCC team while acting as liaison between carriers and Amazon Air
- Own program communication, accelerating progress by driving crisp and timely decisions, clearing blockers (e.g., path to green), and escalating as appropriate
- Work with program managers and business leaders to communicate and impact critical business initiatives
- Engage other Amazon business units globally to share best practices and improve end to end outcomes for Amazon customers
- Lead external and internal conference calls and meetings as needed
- Manage post-launch support plans (e.g., postmortem, issue/ticket management, etc.) and look for opportunities to improve program quality and operational excellence
- Work flexible hours, weekends, and holidays as required
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of program or project management experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience
- 5+ years Airline, military, or equivalent experience with 14CFR 121 operations in line maintenance, maintenance control, heavy maintenance or equivalent
- FAA Part 65 Airframe and Powerplant certificate
- Leadership experience in technical aircraft maintenance roles or equivalent
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of driving process improvements experience
- MBA or Master degree in aviation.
- 8+ years of airline experience with a 14CFR 121 or 135 operator in line maintenance, maintenance control, fleet management, technical services or aircraft engineering
- Extensive technical maintenance experience and fleet specific training on Boeing and/or Airbus fleet types
- Advanced fleet specific training in Avionics, Autoland CAT II/III, and ETOPS
