This role is in the Consumer Electronics Technology (CE Tech) team, which drives Customer Experience (CX) innovation within the North America Stores (NAS) organization. The CE Tech team works on a range of key initiatives across the shopping journey on the Amazon website and the mobile shopping app (e.g., CX innovation on product detail pages, Bundles, Warranties, Internal Tools, and more), as well as new, cutting-edge focus areas such as Generative AI, and Next Generation Shopping. We are responsible for improving the end-to-end experience for customers shopping for consumer electronics on Amazon and partners that work with Amazon to sell these products.

We have an opening for a talented Senior Software Development Engineer to help us innovate and make our mark in this space! If you are an experienced SDE who wants to work on hard problems and have the autonomy to deliver, then we want to talk to you about joining us in CETech.

In this role, you will:
- Lead other team members and partner teams to investigate design approaches, lead design reviews, prototype new technology, and evaluate technical feasibility
- Work with modern web development technologies to improve customer workflows
- Work with modern technologies such as GenAI and AWS technologies such as SageMaker, SQS, SNS, S3, Lambda, DynamoDB, Redshift, CloudWatch, Data Pipelines, and Kinesis.
- Write high-quality distributed system software
- Drive best practices and engineering excellence
- Establish architectural principles, select design patterns, and mentor team members

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

Austin, TX, USA


- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team


- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
