Senior Economist, IPC - Selection and SSD
DESCRIPTION
Economists in Selection solve the most interesting problems that arise when we ask: "what should Amazon sell"? Is the selection, the set of items we carry, a lift or a drag on Amazon's growth?
Key job responsibilities
Analyze large datasets of customer behavior to quantify aspects of their shopping behavior such as substitution, basket building, and decisions to shop again.
Communicate findings in internal academic conferences.
Partner with engineers to bring new concepts to life as datasets and services useful across Amazon.
Partner with internal customers to incubate uses for the datasets and services to create economic value.
A day in the life
Our days are a mix of focused work on data, free-form collaborative ideation, and communicating with the rest of SCOT and Amazon about our thinking about Amazon selection.
