DESCRIPTION

AWS Commerce Platform is hiring a Principal Product Manager – Technical to define and drive a set of large scale, cross-company initiatives. As one of the foundational services within AWS, Commerce Platform is used by almost every AWS service to capture customer usage, calculate their bills, and deliver their invoices. In this role, you will look at a problem space impacting the full breadth of AWS services and helps drive the next wave of strategic growth for the company. This role will focus on long-term deliverables with the time allowed to deliver a project of this scale and scope. As a member of a new team looking across multiple projects of this size and scope, you will collaborate with a team of product leaders, each with a similar size and scope, and be expected to help each other solve problems that span multiple business groups.

The ideal candidate will be a combination of a detective and a diplomat. You’ll be required to learn about technical systems and their interconnections, while building relationships across multiple business leaders. You can dive deep into problems with data and draft persuasive working backwards narratives based on your insights. You can build big plans that can be delivered over time and divide those plans into approachable milestones. You are an excellent communicator, as comfortable speaking with junior engineers as you are with senior executives. You are comfortable with ambiguity and moving from one idea to the next as you drive one problem to conclusion and discover new areas with business potential.

Key job responsibilities
As a Principal Product Manager on this team, you will be expected to:
• Develop product and solution requirements, working backwards from the customer with primary focus on products and services supporting the growth, efficiency, and scaling of AWS’s commercial capabilities
• Write compelling business cases to articulate investment priorities, future capabilities, and long-term strategic vision.
• Investigate and research the relationship and interactions of multiple technical systems spanning multiple business units.
• Work effectively across AWS with groups such as product management, engineering, solution architecture, and business development to achieve business goals.
