Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking Data Center Technicians to support our customers in multiple locations. This includes, but is not limited to: VA (Manassas, Herndon, Chantilly, Auburn), OR (Boardman, Umatilla, Hermiston), OH (Columbus), CA (Santa Clara), given availability. This position requires the successful candidate report to a site location.

This is an approved Department of Defense (DoD) SkillBridge Program. Active duty transitioning service members from any branch of service may apply if they meet the eligibility requirements. Amazon is proud to be a host company partner with Hiring Our Heroes (HOH) as part of a nationwide initiative via the Chamber of Commerce. Offered in a 3-times/year cohort and individual fellowship format, the 12-week program is held Monday through Thursday at host companies (Fridays are reserved for military duties and professional development). Amazon provides eligible transitioning military members and military spouses with fellowship opportunities across the company.

Key job responsibilities
All physical requirements are expected with reasonable accommodations:

* Ability to work in an environment that operates 24/7 with an ability to participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as needed

- 1+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience
- 1+ years of computer networking experience
- High school or equivalent diploma
- 1+ years of Linux operating systems experience
- Must be active duty U.S. Military members with 180~ days of time in service remaining or a military spouse


- Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure
- Knowledge of IT system hardware and network concepts
- Knowledge of fiber optic and copper cabling standards, testing equipment and troubleshooting methodologies
- Can lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds
