Senior Technical Program Manager, AWS Security Assurance
DESCRIPTION

The AWS Security Assurance team is responsible for demonstrating the security controls of services offered by AWS. The Security Assurance Engineering team’s mission is to build and enhance mechanisms to continuously demonstrate that AWS meets and exceeds the high security and compliance bar expected by our customers. We achieve this by pro-active engagement of service/control owners to identify, monitor and drive remediation of risks, enabling AWS to meet various security and compliance requirements. The team also builds tools and services that enable us to scale, create efficiencies for our teams and transparency for our customers.
We are looking for a talented Technical Program Manager to help manage an internal change and account management program to ensure the effective evaluation and oversight of our IT systems and processes. A successful candidate will have a strong security and compliance background. They will have an ability to manage aspects of a major program requiring reporting to auditors/regulators while remediating findings and issues discovered across AWS engineering teams. They will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Key job responsibilities
The Technical Program Manager will be responsible for the following:
- Draft narratives providing leadership awareness of upcoming issues and recommended solutions
- Track projects including resources, priorities, milestones, dependencies, and status.
- Run operational campaigns to ensure that AWS stays compliant with relevant regulations
- Walkthrough operations and control status to external auditors
- Report status and metrics to Security Assurance Leadership
- Vet new control requirements from audit liaisons
- Coordinate with engineering teams to migrate key metadata for ingestion into GRC tooling
- Identify areas of improvements to reduce touchpoints for engineering teams and reduce risk of non-compliance

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 3+ years of software development experience
- 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
