This is an exciting opportunity for a professional eager to shape the technology landscape within a rapidly expanding Analytics team in the APM Ads Finance organization. You will play a key role as Data Engineer in delivering data solutions that power internal dashboards, product insights, recommendation engines, and more.

We are looking for a motivated Data Engineer with strong technical, analytical skillsets to join the APM Finance team supporting Devices, Video, Audio and PubTech Finance. This position will be responsible to develop and managing large, complex datasets that are both scalable and easily accessible. This candidate will be comfortable with ambiguity and a self-starter who seeks requirements for major business initiatives, and will be an essential team member that can articulate insights using the data.

The candidate will have extensive expertise in creating, managing, and leveraging large datasets across diverse data platforms. Strong business and interpersonal skills are essential to collaborate effectively with Finance, Data, and business stakeholders, understand data requirements, conduct thorough data analysis, and partner with BIEs to answer business questions and enhance ads performance. Key job responsibilities
Design, implement and support various data solutions such as data lake, ETL pipeline, data warehouse and data integration with the rest of the Amazon Ads system.

Interface with other technology teams to extract, transform, and load data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL, scripting, and AWS big data technologies.

Work closely with product teams, software developers and Business Intelligence Engineers to explore new data sources and deliver the data.

Ensure data privacy, security, and compliance with financial standards in collaboration with the data governance team.


About the team
Amazon Publisher Technology (APM) Finance Analytics team supports ads businesses for Devices (e.g. FireTV), Audio, Video (e.g. Twitch, TNF, Freevee), and as well as Publisher Technology team. These are nascent, high growth and high visibility areas with stakeholders across Advertising, Amazon Music, FireTV, Alexa, and Prime Video. Analytics team is embedded as part of the larger APM Finance, is known as a team of builders with a focus on not only creating world class ad products, but also world class consumer experiences. The APM Finance Analytics team is designed to be collaborative; although team members have clear ownership of an area(s), success typically involves partnering with others in the broader finance team.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of data engineering experience
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience with SQL
- Experience with AWS including EC2, S3, Lambda, and Redshift.
- Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language, such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions
- Experience with non-relational databases / data stores (object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, column-family databases)
- Experience working on and delivering end to end projects independently
- Experience providing technical leadership and mentoring other engineers for best practices on data engineering
- Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language, such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $118,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $205,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
