Are you a software engineer who gets deeply excited about the idea of bringing the best of IMDb video to the world? If so, we’d love to talk with you.

IMDb is going BIG on video and we are looking for engineers as part of our core video team. You’ll be part of a small team working to implement high-performance software that powers video playback and building video experiences that engage and delight IMDb customers. If you love solving hard problems for customers, have strong software engineering fundamentals (data structures, object-oriented design and algorithms) and a demonstrated competence in designing reusable, maintainable and performant software written in a modern high-level language (Java, C/C++, JavaScript, Python, Go, Swift) then this just might be your next challenge. It’s not required, but if you have a background in mobile or web development, multimedia software development, and knowledge of audio/video codecs (AVC, HEVC, AAC, AC-3), it’s a definite plus.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or 5+ year relevant work experience
· 4+ years professional experience in software development
· Computer Science fundamentals in data structures, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis
· Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Java, C/C++, JavaScript, Python, Go, Swift

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Design and development of high-volume multi-tiered distributed software applications
· Knowledge of professional software engineering and best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
· Passion for movies, TV and entertainment
· Experience with modern web technologies like JavaScript, React, and/or ES6
