We are looking for a EU Sort Centre Manager Safety (m/f) to join our team.

This role reports to with an indirect reporting line to the Sort Centre Manager for the SUE and will be based in one of the FR Sort Centers.

The EHS Manager will be responsible for supporting the Sort Centre (SC's) to achieve their safety objectives, ensuring a safe and healthful working environment, following safety policy and processes. In addition they will support the creation of an effective safety audit program, generate risk assessment documentation and processes to ensure that unsafe practices are identified and eliminated. They will work in partnership with the SC business leaders to ensure continuous improvement in safety performance and that legal compliance is always being positively promoted. The role will be supported by the EU Operation EHS team linking in and leveraging the functional capability and resources to ensure success. By leveraging Lean principles, Safety Policies, 5S Standards, participating in and overseeing Safety Kaizen efforts, and seeking to improve ergonomics and error-proof our processes to reduce risks. This position will assist Amazon Prime Now in reaching our injury prevention and regulatory compliance goals.

This position will initially be a sole contributor role linked to the existing EU safety function with continual review re resourcing requirements as the SC business expands across the SEU and EU. This role will create and maintain SC Safety Policies, coordinate Safety initiates to successfully deliver the required safety and environmental performance standards.

Responsibilities include:
· Oversee safety performance metrics reporting and communication
· Assist SC Director and site general management in communication, training, and execution of the Safety & Environmental Programs throughout the FC’s
· Ensure compliance to French law as it applies to Life Safety for all relevant FC’s
· Perform regular gap analysis to best justify funds for site safety improvements and react to Associate feedback
· Ensure compliance to Safety programs such as Lockout-Tagout, Fall Protection, Fire Prevention, Emergency Procedures and Evacuation and other such programs for the FC
· Develop and implement training programs to meet the needs of Managers and Associates in regards to critical safety issues
· Develop and maintain ergonomics programs where needed
· Analyze accident data and build prevention programs to impact accident trends
· Build management and employee commitment for a Safety program through influence not authority
· Review Standard Operating Procedure changes and make Safety recommendations
· Conduct Job Hazard Analysis and Job Safety Analysis
· Interact with Workers Compensation third-party administrators in carrying out claims management
· Develop a positive working relationship with local Fire Department and other local authorities as needed
· Manage consistent and disciplined incident investigation and reporting
· Weekly metrics reporting to management teams
· Applying Lean tools to Safety: error-proof processes, analyze Safety trends and create proactive plans to address key risks, use Pareto analysis and other tools to monitor and drive high-effectiveness Safety programs

Basic Qualifications
· NEBOSH Diploma and Occupational Safety Degree level qualification
· 5+ years experience as Safety Manager in operational/logistics environment
· Experience developing Safety and/or environmental policy, training, and quality assurance materials
· 5+ years of increasing responsibilities in Safety and/or environmental programs in warehousing, retail or service operations
· Excellent communication skills in English both verbally and written
· Experience implementing Lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment.
· Willing to travel, up to 50%

· Experienced in remotely supporting large number of small operations
· Forward thinking Manager with a high degree of customer service, thinking outside of the box and supporting delivery of company policies and goals
