IMDb is looking for an exceptional editor to provide unique content across our IMDb platforms. This editor will write and produce compelling and engaging content to enhance, extend, and expand our consumers’ entertainment experience.

This position requires deep knowledge of movie and TV trends, as well as the entertainment industry and its competitive landscape; a strong command of the English language; and social media savvy. This editor will work closely with Amazon Studios and numerous internal teams. On-camera experience is a plus. The successful candidate will have several years’ experience working in the entertainment field in some regard, preferably on the Internet, with contacts in the industry.

Candidates must be flexible to work evenings, weekends, or both. High-potential candidates will have a track record of activity in online publishing and social media. This could include blogging, vlogging, and grassroots marketing via social media.

Key Responsibilities
· Develop and execute editorial content plans with consideration for audience, advertiser appeal, brand guidelines, and business priorities
· Use analytics to report on, evaluate, and improve content performance
· Create, update and manage project timelines and an editorial calendar
· Regularly inform team members of project status and milestones
· Coordinate, edit, proofread, and fact-check editorial content from other team members
· Contribute and adhere to organization-wide style manual
· Write, edit, and proofread content that supports business priorities and goals
· Analyze and leverage IMDb data for editorial content
· Update and maintain SEO best practices and CMS posting guidelines

A Successful Candidate Will:
· Be self-directed and quickly shift gears from concept development to production-focused tasks
· Be deadline-oriented with effective time management within a quick-turn publishing environment
· Have strong organizational skills and attention to detail
· Have experience working with teams or contractors locally and remotely
· Have demonstrated analytical skills
· Be proactive, diplomatic, courteous, and clear in all external and internal communication


· Strong command of the English language, as well as an ability to write effectively and efficiently
· Broad working knowledge of the entertainment industry
· Demonstrated knowledge of and deep interest in TV, movie, and celebrity content
· 6+ years relevant work experience as an online editor, writer, or content manager
· Mastery of copy and headline writing and editing
· Experience delivering copy for daily, weekly, or monthly deadlines
· Experience with social media tools
· Experience with content management systems
· Experience with data-driven publishing
· Knowledge of HTML, XML, and SQL
· BA or MA in journalism, English, informatics, or technical writing (or equivalent experience)
· Commitment to learning and expanding professional and technical knowledge
· Available to work weekends, when needed


· Experience interviewing talent on-camera
· Proven ability to create engaging, viral social content
