Developer Advocate - Microsoft Windows on AWS

DESCRIPTION

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a talented, self-directed Developer Advocate to drive adoption and community engagement for Microsoft Windows Development across all AWS services. In this role you will partner closely with teams across AWS to ensure that Windows developers, versant in .NET Framework and .NET Core, have an easy way to discover and experience,AWS and create compelling next-generation applications. You will champion and guide them in the migration and/or building of .NET Framework and .NET Core applications using their existing C#, F#, PowerShell, Xamarin and Visual Studio skills. Additionally you will champion the power of microservices, containers, serverless and machine learning – and show how these innovations can be infused into their application development arsenal. You will combine your unbridled passion and enthusiasm for developers with your unmatched creativity to generate grass-roots attention and support for Windows-centric development on AWS across .NET developers, technologists, and key industry opinion makers.

You have immediate credibility with developers but are equally at home working with decision makers at large enterprises. You love to share your passion with others and exhibit good judgment in selecting strategic opportunities to do so. Your responsibilities will include:
· Defining and delivering programs and content that that will engage and enable .NET (Framework, Core etc.) developers at scale
· Delivering compelling presentations, product demos, sample solutions, and discussions to drive adoption of .NET (Framework, Core etc.) on AWS
· Actively participating in open source projects and being a member of the open source community specifically .NET Core
· Actively lead and engage with Marketing, Sales and other Go-To-Market teams to communicate to the .NET developer community
· Creating screencasts, white papers and tutorials about emerging technologies and industry developments including but not limited to microservices, containers, serverless and machine learning
· Working with different service teams across the organization to share best practices and help build a best-in-the-industry developer advocacy organization
· Maintaining a strong and credible presence in social media channels relevant to developers

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate has:
· 3 to 4 years experience in software development or working closely with developer audiences (e.g., as a software architect or cloud solution architect)
· Hands on experience with application or web development stacks, e.g., at least one of the following languages/frameworks: .NET (C# or F#), or Xamarin
· Superior oral and written communication skills
· The ability to work cooperatively with, and gain the respect of, software developers
· Ability to travel (up to 25%) and the ability to work autonomously
· Must be able to relocate to Seattle

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Masters degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline
· Hands on experience with cloud or mobile backend platforms
· Active contributor to open source projects
· Experience in a marketing, evangelist, pre-sales, or product management role
