DESCRIPTION

The Kindle Ingestion and Expansion (KIX) team enables independent authors, content creators and publishers to publish their content as eBooks for distribution to the Kindle Store, Kindle Unlimited and the Kindle Owners’ Lending Library; as well as in print formats for sale on Amazon’s global marketplaces, bookstores and other online retailers using Amazon’s state-of-the-art Print on Demand (POD) technology. KIX is an important part of Amazon’s vision to provide its Kindle and print book customers with the world’s largest selection in the format they prefer – eBook or paperback.


The KIX Support Engineering team provides tier 2&3 services production support and is also responsible for providing multifaceted services to the Kindle digital product family of development teams and working with production operations teams for software product release coordination and deployment. This job requires you to hit the ground running and your ability to learn quickly and work on disparate and overlapping tasks that will define your success.

Key Job Functions Include these...

· Should be able to Manage daily operations
· Actively involve himself with functional QA managers, TPM's while preparing QA plans, release plans and escalate issues to the right stake holders if any in terms of regression and DA team deliverable's
· Should be able to demand capacity planning and ensuring that idle time and commitment misses are minimized
· Should be able to suggest and drive process improvements, metrics to improve the overall team performance to completion
· Use software tools for data capture/execution/reporting on a daily basis
· Be comfortable with capturing team test results and providing project status reports
· Drive/suggest development of systems and tools for streamlining day to day operational tasks
· Manage career path and performance of reports and provide growth paths for promising employees
· Work with functional QA and DA org to understand the gaps and coordinate with process experts to fill the gaps





BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· BS in Computer Science or equivalent combination of technical education and work experience
· Dedicated and committed
· External hires should have minimum of 7 - 10 years of relevant experience
· Should have at least 2 year of experience in managing a team of 5-10 Engineers
· Very strong stakeholder management and communication management.
· Good command over Windows and Excel
· Strong analytical skills and ability to work in an unstructured and evolving environment
· Good people manager who can manage and motivate direct reports and get the best out of them

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
