Amazon has decided to open fulfilment centres in the Czech Republic in order to meet growing customer demand across Europe. Currently Prague, together with the nearby town of Dobrovíz, is home to a customer return centre and a corporate office. The customer return centre was successfully integrated into Amazon’s European Fulfilment Network from its day one. Besides the current facilities, Amazon opened a fully-fledged Fulfillment Center next to the customer return centre in the second half of 2015. Please see below for more information about our facilities.
Prague: a thriving historical city
One of the most visited cities in Europe, Prague is a veritable treasure trove of historical landmarks. Prague is the capital and the largest city in the Czech Republic and it is home to about 1.26 million people.
Prague has a thousand years’ worth of architecture that was relatively undamaged by the conflicts of the 20th century. Main historical monuments include the Prague Castle, the Charles Bridge, Old Town Square with the Prague astronomical clock, the Jewish Quarter and Vyšehrad. Despite being best known for its history, Prague is a very modern 21st-century city, and boasts major research institutions and high-tech industry corporate presences. Since 1992, the extensive historic centre of Prague has been included in the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites.
