We are looking for a motivated, organized individual to lead our Research & Development team in our Carrollton, TX location.

Position Overview
We are seeking a leader to join a dynamic team focused on advanced Print Applications and Prototyping in an R&D environment for quick turn production. The R&D Manager is an expert in Lean Manufacturing methodologies and interacts with various stakeholders and business partners including but not limited to Operations, IT, Facilities, other Woot/Amazon leaders and third party vendors. They will support print and production process testing efforts with a broad range of activities from machine selection, process engineering, product testing and evaluation, and total process documentation. The role requires regular interaction with Production and Management personnel, as well as equipment manufacturers and vendors.

Job Responsibilities
· Regular interactions with various internal teams and external business owners, to help understand requirements & business priorities, define evaluation models and drive improvements
· Build best-of-class Research & Development team
· Developing research, production and implementation strategies
· Resource planning to support various program asks
· Drive initiatives to maximize operational efficiency
· Defining measurable metrics to gauge progress against objective Support goals.
· Identification and deployment of advanced print technologies
· Partner with Operations & Leadership to develop better more robust processes
· Work with equipment and product manufacturers to ensure the best quality product
· Thorough Documentation of all findings


Basic Qualifications
• BA/BS required or 2+ years of Amazon/Amazon Subsidiary work experience
• Ability to influence and lead large project teams, Project Management experience a plus
• Demonstrated ability to work and thrive in a multi-project, multi-deadline environment
• Working knowledge of computers, their interfaces and Microsoft office
• Demonstrated analytical, technical writing and oral communications skills
• Self-motivated to learn new technologies


Preferred Qualifications
• Technical degree in engineering technology, manufacturing or related field
• Working knowledge of Color Management, RIP software, Inkjet and Sublimation
• Manufacturing experience in a high technology environment
• Experience with Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator
• Working knowledge of both Mac and PC computer platforms
• Excellent attention to detail and quality control
• Aptitude to quickly learn new systems and software
