Q: Why was my application not moved forward?

A: Applying and meeting basic qualifications of the role does not guarantee an interview. The recruiting team reviews each resume and the top candidates are selected to move forward to next steps in the hiring process. We recommend that you update your resume with all relevant key pieces of information, including but not limited to: your degree, graduation date, leadership skills, and Amazon experience.

Q: What if I am unable to complete my degree after I receive an offer?

A: Campus Next offers are contingent on the candidate meeting graduation eligibility and internal transfer eligibility at the time of listed start date. If you do not meet graduation eligibility requirements, the offer is no longer valid. Those who are unable to complete their degree within the eligibility window can re-apply closer to their new expected graduation date. Please note, compensation and location may differ based on the current guidance and availability within the new start date range.

Q: What if my performance or employment status changes after I receive an offer?

If offered a placement that is located more than 50 miles (US) or 40 kilometers (Canada) from your current home address on file, you may be eligible for relocation assistance. Please note, university demand is different than externally posted demand and reqs cannot be flipped to the university team to meet location preferences. Candidates are expected to stay in role at their placement location for at least 12 months.

Q: Can I be placed at my current site?

A: Campus Next places candidates against available university headcount based on your earliest available start date (after the completion of your degree) and your location preferences as provided to recruiting during the intake. If these factors align with your current site, then such a placement may be a possibility.

Area Manager Internship

The Area Manager Internship Program runs for 10 weeks during the summer, with three start dates candidates can choose from between mid-May and mid-June. During these 10 weeks, interns work closely with a mentor to complete a process improvement project, write a white paper, and present to a panel. Successful interns may be presented with a full-time offer the following year after they have graduated.

Internals participating in the Area Manager Internship is will receive a short-term promotion (pay raise eligible) for the duration of the program. Upon completion, all internal interns are expected to return to their prior roles and should not be back-filled. Full-time offers will be made based on performance in the intern role and with feedback collected from the host site/mentor.

Q: Will I receive a full-time offer at the end of the internship?

A: Consistent with external internship candidates, a hiring message will be sent to internal interns 2-4 weeks after internship completion. Interns will be notified of one of these potential outcomes:

  • Full-time offer and return to prior role until graduation: If an internal intern receives a full-time offer, they will move back into their previous role until they have completed their degree. Once they graduate, they will move into their new role.
  • No full-time offer and return to prior role: If an internal intern does not receive a full-time return offer, they will return to their prior role and partner with their managers to create a development plan based on the internship performance feedback. Employees are eligible to reapply for Campus Next full-time roles after 90 days and with their current manager’s recommendation.
