Technical Program Manager III, Make on Demand

Job ID: 3022010 | Amazon.com Services LLC

DESCRIPTION

Did you know that many of the products you buy on Amazon didn’t exist before you have ordered them? Here’s a quick overview on how books are made https://youtu.be/YbcL-AWb13U.

We develop and optimize the software solutions that power the Make-On-Demand (MOD) manufacturing cells worldwide to reduce process waste, improve efficiency, lower cost of manufacturing, and improve the quality of books manufactured. The scope of our work is within the four walls of the manufacturing cell, from the time we get a manufacturing request till the book is manufactured.

Are you able to look around corners, see into the future, and change the world? Are your problem solving skills legendary? Do you excel at decomposing problems and inventing simple solutions, at scale? Can you influence cross-functional teams across multiple organizations to ensure the right technical solution is delivered? If so, you could be the experienced Technical Program Manager (TPM) to focus on and drive solving real world problems on a global scale for Print-On-Demand (POD).

With POD, we envision a world where customers can buy any book in any language and, where publishers and authors can distribute their titles without having to hold physical inventory, where every book is always “in-stock” and customer orders are manufactured in real-time, close to the customer and delivered on-time, helping the environment by only printing books readers want.

The TPM works cross-functionally across POD, Books and Amazon Fulfillment business to develop and implement programs that will impact millions of customers around the world. The successful candidate must be able to confidently handle complex projects and provide guidance in situations of high ambiguity, showing good judgment and continually improving their level of knowledge about Amazon’s business, and relevant technologies. The candidate must have a track record of delivering impact within new environments including the ability to apply systems thinking to complex, fast moving problems. The role will engage with both internal and external partners to develop the product roadmap, define product requirements using inputs from a diverse set of stakeholders and prioritize investments, and drive the roadmap to completion.

Come join our MOD team and get ready to Work Hard, Have Fun, and Make History!
