DESCRIPTION

Would you like to join a dynamic Amazon team that is focused on delivering critical content to Amazon internal and external customers? The Risk Content Management team owns the creation of help, email template, and other content experiences. This team is currently looking for a strong Manager to lead our Selling Partner Risk team to deliver global content to improve the customer experience.

The successful candidate will manage a team of content developers and one people manager. This is a manager of managers role. This includes regular meetings with direct reports, the global team, and business stakeholders. It also includes resource planning and allocation, delivering programmatic goals, and managing the team’s performance. The candidate will also be expected to drive content related programs from conception to delivery working in collaboration with global stakeholders.

This role requires an individual with excellent analytical abilities and project management skills. The candidate must be a self-starter, with strong attention to detail, capable of diving deep, and able to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Great interpersonal skills, strong verbal and written communication, time management, and ability to deal with ambiguity are required. Demonstrated affinity for technology and a background in technical writing, editing, and information design would be a plus. A passion for communicating effectively is essential to the role.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years as Team Manager or Team Lead.
- Proven leader who has a demonstrated track record of managing on-time delivery of projects.
- Leadership and project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional discussions and to effectively scope and deliver projects under tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions and evaluate outcomes.
- Ability to understand complex applications and system concepts.
- Passionate about data, discovering new trends, and driving actions through insights.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience managing a technical writing or documentation team.
- Previous experience managing managers.
- Experience managing remote teams.
- Experience working as part of a global team supporting multiple languages.
- Experience in a multi-language publishing environment, including translation memories and terminology databases.
- Experience creating content for translation and localization.
- Experience in editorial/peer review.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Experience with HTML, XML, DITA, or content management systems (CMS).

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
