The Emerging Markets - Delivery Experience team is building a team to define, design and develop a solution for a new business initiative that will directly impact Amazon's top line growth and sustainability of the business. Our development team will play a pivotal role in this program, with the mission to build a comprehensive solution for new business initiative. This is a rare opportunity to lead a team that will be responsible for building a successful, sustainable and strategic business for Amazon, from the ground up!

Our engineers are top-notch software developers who love listening to the customers, working as a team, and proactively taking the lead whenever necessary. In this role, you will have an opportunity to lead the design and development of key parts of services. You will work closely with business leaders on the team to deliver innovative customer experiences, contribute meaningfully to team process development, and successfully guide SDE careers.

Scope of Role: In this role, you will be responsible for managing a team of engineers and working with technical program managers, and will own the delivery and success for that team. You come from an engineering background and are comfortable diving into code and architecture. You insist on high standards operationally, and will be responsible for developing people’s careers as well as recruiting for the team. You will engage with product management, engineering principals, and other software engineering teams to drive the business forward.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- -3+ years of engineering team management experience
- -7+ years of engineering experience
- -8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- -Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- -Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- -Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $148,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $287,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
