Why join us?

DynamoDB provides a unique opportunity to work on some of the toughest computer science problems at scale, such as how to replicate tables across continents, encrypt petabytes of data, and allow customers to back up terabytes of tables in a high-performance manner. We are looking for deeply technical, team-first mentality people to help grow the DynamoDB business by 10 times over the next two years. You also will help maintain and improve the single-digit millisecond read and write times of DynamoDB. DynamoDB occupies a technically challenging space that requires unique and innovative solutions. You will be part of a team that will help you grow your technical skills and career every day.

Two things drew me to AWS: the complexity of the work, and the reputation of the brilliant engineers I would get to work with. I am constantly growing as an engineer through the complex tasks I take on and the guidance and feedback I receive from some of the best engineers in the database space.

My favorite part of the job is the variety of problems we get to solve, from hardware tuning configurations all the way to complex distributed systems designs. I have enjoyed learning to wear multiple hats: individual contributor, mentor for team members, and technical leader contributing to the long-term vision.
