Zainab A.

Operations Area Manager | Dubai, UAE

Zainab has always had the urge to keep learning and exploring. When she met Amazon employees at a recruitment fair as a recent graduate, she had the feeling the company would allow her to keep busy and try new things. Today, she’s an Area Manager at the company’s largest warehouse in the United Arab Emirates, managing a team of 175.

People are often surprised when she tells them what she does. "They seem to think working in logistics or operations is not a job for women," she says. "But I am far from being the only woman here! Most people don’t realise the wide variety of roles available in my field. A career in logistics, for example, teaches you a skill set that equips you for the future. It gives you scope for advancement, and a work-life balance that allows you to pursue your dreams."

Zainab studied Technology Innovation, Security and Networking at university. She now has a job that gives her the opportunity to observe how data and technology are used on a daily basis to transform the way we work. "As Emiratis, we highly value generosity and giving back to the community," she points out. "We commit to these values in everything we do. Personally, I am proud to prove that Emirati women can succeed in all fields, reaching their full potential and achieving their dreams while preserving our country’s culture and values. I feel so lucky to be an Emirati woman with the opportunity to mentor others and influence their career journeys."
